By prior arrangement ONLY, visits from Horticultural Societies, private parties, Garden Clubs and other garden enthusiasts are warmly welcomed.
A member of the Marchants team will give a welcome talk, including an introduction to the Gardens, the story of the Nursery and Marchants’ history.
A visit to Marchants can also be combined with other interesting gardens nearby, making for a rewarding day excursion. Larger gardens such as Great Dixter, Sissinghurst, Merriments Gardens and Pashley Manor Gardens are all an hour or so from us by car.
The duration of a visit is largely dependent on the interests of visitors. Marchants is not a big garden but we believe there is much for visitors to see and enjoy. In general, we suggest allowing 1.5 hours for a relaxed visit. This also allows time to purchase plants in the renowned Marchants Nursery.
Although we can accommodate group visits when our Nursery is open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, our preference is to receive groups on CLOSED days, Monday to Wednesdays, when your group will have the Gardens and Nursery to themselves. The Nursery would, of course, be open to the group for plant purchases.

Group Size: 15 person minimum or above, for all groups.
Cost per Person: £10 – £15, depending on the date of visit / children under 16yrs free.
Refreshments: We do not offer refreshments, but can recommend the nearby cafe at Laughton Village Stores, or the Roebuck Inn just a few minutes away in Laughton village.
